Control Room

Our Neve 5088 console is the centerpiece of the entire studio. The 32 channel console has 24 channels hooked straight up to our Studer A827 tape machine and plenty of outboard gear. We have units from RND, API, SSL, TubeTech, GrooveTubes, Urei, and Audioscape. Plus custom made pieces from right here in St Augustine, Fl. The plate and lexicon 224 reverb are always ready to create a vibe perfect for any track. We also have 24 in and 40 out to our pro tools rig courtesy of our Burl B80 Mothership, the best sounding audio converters on the planet.

The guitar closet at Retro is one to behold. We have enough instruments to make any guitar player drool. From a real ‘54 Les Paul, ‘68 Telecaster, ‘63 335, and so much more, there are enough tools in this toolbox to achieve any sound you have heard on your favorite record. Our early 70’s Guild semi-hollow bass guitar is a go-to for the woody and punchy tone, but our Rickenbacker is also a great axe when paired with one of our vintage Sunn bass cabs.

Vintage amps are nestled all over the live room. Fender Super Reverb, Vibrolux, Deluxe, Marshall Plexi, HiWatt, 100 and 200 heads with a matching 4x10 cabinet, just to name a few, all straight from the ‘60s and ‘70s. We love when guitar players experiment with unconventional guitar to amp pairings and find the tone they have been dreaming about.

The vintage keyboard selection here is unbelievable. Yamaha C3 grand piano, Baldwin upright, Fender Rhodes, Hammond organ and Leslie combo, Wurlitzer 200a, Hohner Clavinet, Yamaha CP70 electric piano, all restored and maintained to immaculate condition.
